After years of peppering with my dad in our basement with a beach ball since first grade, my love for volleyball grew and I have been playing competitively since 2011.
I am a junior at Garfield High School and this is my third year as a starting varsity player. My primary position is setter but I have played every position successfully including middle blocker. As a freshman, I played libero and my passing percentage has been above 2.3 during each high school season. This fall season I was 2nd in Washington state in total aces. As the starting setter for Seattle Juniors Volleyball club, we placed second in the Patriot division at the 2015 GJNC’s in New Orleans. This year my team is currently second in the Puget Sound (ps) region's U18 league and we won the U17 Puget Sound Regional Championship. We also earned an American bid for the 2016 JNC's in Indianapolis.
As a beach player, I’ve placed first two times in the U16 division, second place two times in the U18 division in local tournaments, and 3rd place at the Seaside beach tournament in U16 in 2015.
Although having great skills are important, in my experience it is more important to be the best teammate possible and to be a positive example. I am usually described as nice, kind, supportive, coachable, athletic and competitive. I love to help others and enjoy seeing the team and my teammates reach their goals.
