Being a freshman this year and finally getting the chance to play football at the high school level was an outstanding opportunity for me. I was able to see myself grow as a player and a person. Practicing against older teammate who were bigger and faster allowed me the chance to really test myself and see where I was as a player. I was able to take the lessons learned not only from my coaches but those practice sessions as a scout player for the varsity team and put them to use on the field during games. As this was also a down year for our team I learned how to work through the adversity of playing hard but coming up short at the end. This has caused me to work even harder in the off season both hitting the weight room and studying what I can to improve myself as a player on the field to help my team succeed.
Away from football my goal is to finish high school with straight A’s. So far I’m maintaining my grades at this level and did this even during a very long but fun football season. I’m hoping to play at the college level and feel in order to do this not only must I compete athletically but must be strong academically as well. As I continue growing and maturing and with my strong work ethic I believe I can compete at the college level and will be an asset to a college program.
