Every girl that you most likely have received an email from has probably said “ I can’t live without volleyball “ or “ My life revolves around volleyball”. Hi, my name is Ranishia Pickett and I refuse to be like every other ordinary girl that you hear from. I am making it my personal goal to be extraordinary. In high school I am at the top of my class with a grade point average is a 3.7 out of a 4.0. As a result of learning to succeed with dyslexia, I have learned great time management in keeping my grades a priority while maximizing my skills in sports. In college I hope to become a forensic psychologist. I became focused on this profession with the help of volleyball. Volleyball keeps me focused, determined, and I am very dedicated to everything that I set my mind to. When I am playing volleyball, it keeps me focused with my studies and I get stright A’s. When I am in a practice session and don’t fully understand something I am that one person that would stay after and ask the coach how I could get better, this shows determination to make myself as good as possible. My previous coaches have said that I can be pretty stubborn once I get determined. Determination is a big key in a sport, If you are determined you become a better player not just individually but as a team. I refuse to be ordinary, I insist on extraordinary.
