Hello, my name is Maya Hamaoka and I am the graduating class of 2020 at Kalani High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. I am currently in 10th grade and have been playing for my school since I was a freshman. In my freshman year I was starter Middle Blocker on the Junior Varsity team and this past year I was starter on the Varsity team as an Opposite. I have been playing volleyball since 7th grade. Volleyball is my life and what I aspire to do when I get to college.
I am a hard working student. I am currently getting a 4.0 GPA and I am taking rigorous classes such as AP. I know that a huge part for playing in college is about being a student athlete and keeping up your grades. I can manage my time wisely and can excel in your program if given the opportunity.
In Club I also play Outside Hitter and Opposite. This year at Spike and Serve I will be focusing on Setting and Opposite. My goal is to set in college but will work hard to play any position for my coach and team. My strengths include a good work ethic, motivation to learn and coachability. I also train year round with an athletic trainer to stay in shape and develop my game-play.
I can be a valuable asset to any team by contributing my passion to learn, great communication skills, and leadership skills. I also apply these things in my life and hope to learn many new things along my journey in volleyball and my academic career.
Thank you!!!
