Playing soccer is a passion of mine. It is the first sport I ever played, starting at 6 years old. It is the sport that started the fire in me to compete whether it is basketball or track and field. When I am on the field is when I feel the most sure of myself. I know what is expected of me and I know that my hard work will benefit my team as long as I play the best game I can play.
One thing I have learned about myself over the past year is that I need to be pushed. Sometimes it is scary to take the leap, whether it is trying out for a new club team or preparing for the PSAT a year early. It can be easy to become comfortable and to want to take the easy way out, but this year I am committed to pushing myself and surrounding myself with those that will push me to my full potential. I know that I am an elite athlete and I know I will be an asset to any team I play on.
This year is a transitional period for me, I joined a new club team and I accepted a position on the Varsity soccer team, knowing that I would not be a starter. During this time I am looking to learn and to grow with these new teams. The highlight video on my profile is from my first time ever playing with my new club team in a game situation. I am confident that once the club season commences I will earn a starting position.
I come from a large blended family and I have five siblings. I know the importance of being a team player, as well as having patience. I am very easy going and I can adapt to different situations very quickly. I believe these are strengths that are beneficial on and off the field.
Academically, I have started this school year strong and hope to maintain straight A's in hopes to advance to honor classes next year.
