As an 9th grader, I am still not 100% certain what I would like to major in, but my academic strengths are in math and science. So, I would like to attend a D1 or D2 college that has strong programs in these two fields of study. My current core curriculum consists of honors classes, and I have a 4.0 GPA. As I enter into my high school years I hope to complete dual-enrollment classes in order to earn college credit for some of my pre-requisite classes.
Regarding athletics, I am a respectful player to my coaches. Since I play for a club team and the Alabama Olympic Development Team I am exposed to a variety of coaching styles and personalities, and am good at adapting to them all. While I excel on the pitch as a Left Wing or Center Forward, I have also played well in a defensive position (Left or Right Back). While I am primarily right-footed, I am a "switchfoot" and am a proficient left-footed kicker as well.
Overall, I love soccer for the challenge and competition. Each game, whether the outcome is a win or loss, is a lesson. A loss is a chance to identify skills that need practice/improvement; a win is a chance to enjoy the accomplishment with my teammates. Soccer has taught me the imporance of sportsmanship, respect, and hard-work, not to mention team-building and nurturing long-lasting friendships.
I look forward to blending my love of soccer with my college academic career.
