Personal Statement

I have found that being part of a "team" is very important to me.   The word team is defined as being a group of individuals that come together, forming one side to defeat a competitor or obtain a common goal.  I aspire to be a part of a team that is selfless, works hard and effortlessly works together without second guessing each other.  I have always felt like being that kind of team is what makes any team successful and when that type of harmony is lacking, the team only sets themselves up for failure.  I think that I differentiate from other athletes because I am able to see the big picture and take pride in whatever my role may be to better the teams end goal.  Whether that means I am on the bench cheering, throwing batting practice or being put on the spot to win the game or make a big play, this is what I live for.   To be a part of something bigger than just myself.  I have loved this game since the second time my mother made me try it and I have worked hard to get where I am today.  Not only have I worked hard on the field, but in the classroom and on my grades.  My mother always tells me that athletics are never promised and if I wanted to insure myself a great education, I would need to hit the books.  So hit the books I did.  I have studied long hours, late nights and cried many tears, but doing so knowing that someday I will look back and be grateful for those long hours, late nights and many tears.  Being only a sophomore, I know that I love the ocean and all creatures that live within it, therefore I am positive that I want to pursue a career in marine biology.  I would love to work with sea turtles, they're my favorite, but if that's not in the cards just put me close to water and I will work some biology magic.  Wherever the road leads, I'm  looking forward to whatever the future holds for me, both, athletically and academically.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
