From the time I could walk, I have always loved water! My Mom says on our first trip to Florida my brother and I saw the pool at our hotel and went over and jumped in without fear! It was then that they decided to place my brother and I into swimming lessons; and I have been swimming ever since!
I started my first competitive swimming experience with the YMCA swim team and then I transitioned to the Harris County Aquatics Program when I was around 8 or 9. I really enjoy competitive swimming and feel that I would be an asset to any collegiate level team. I currently also swim for my HS and am seen as a leader there, and I am always encouraging my team mates and helping them when I can
In the classroom I really try to study hard, but it’s difficult sometimes due to my practice schedule but I know when I need help and I seek out tutorials as needed or try to seek out extra help from my teachers. I also am quite involved in other extracurricular activities. I am a member and Teen Board member for the North Houston Suburban Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. I also volunteer at the hospital during the summer as a youth volunteer and at the Houston Livestock show and rodeo.
I want to be able to attend college, where I can further develop my leadership potential and to continue to be able to swim! I hope to make my parents proud of my accomplishments both in swimming and in school!
