Personal Statement

For college not only do I want to become better in the sport I play and share the passion for the game with my teammates, but I also really look forward to getting a good education. School was never easy for me because of the way I was(ADHD, ADD, Tourettes Symptoms.) and it held me back. But I've come so far as to keeping an almost steady GPA of 3.0. In college I want to take my strengths that I have already obtained, which is now Mechanical Engineering. I've always loved the details, but my true talents come from building things. My eyes have a mind of their own, to notice the details on a moving part or a contraption of sorts. And I try to take that detail, and re-imagine it to a whole new level. That same strength gives me the ability to improve in soccer, I notice the details on the field, how the ball moves when kicked a certain way, which players are making that sneaky run that no one else notices. It makes me a deadly player on the field attacking wise. It's also helpful when practicing. Each time I take a shot on goal, I take a minute to think about that shot. How did my foot strike the ball, how much power did I use, how far back did my leg pull back, etc. If the shot was good, I try to replicate it and look for similar results. If the shot was bad, I adjust my self to take a shot a little differently and see how much it impacts the results. I'm always wanting to improve something. Whether it be designing the newest modern television stand, improving my footwork, and so on. I've got an enormous passion to be the best I can be, and I'm never satisfied until things are positive in my eyes. Success and a bright future are my goals, and I use every bit of my day working to do so.

Club Information

  • Seasons of Club Experience
  • 6 seasons
  • 2015 Spokane Shadow SC (Premier)
  • Division 2 RCL U-19
  • 2014 Spokane Shadow SC (Premier)
  • Played in Nike Crossfire challenge in Redmond, WA this year. Short on players, experience as a whole new team was gained. We can possess the ball but play and finishing in the attacking 3rd will have to improve. Went 0-0-3 but was a learning experience.
  • 2013 Spokane Sabers (WA) (First Team U-16 2013/14)
  • 2012 FC Spokane (First Team U-15)
  • After a rough start a year before playing for a different club, this club brought me back in the game but changed my view on soccer forever. They helped me improve myself in every aspect of the game. My coach had taught me to never give up, and to push myself to the limits no matter how hard situations get. His words changed my work ethic not only on the field, but also in my daily life and school. That club turned me from average to competitor with the best, even if they are better than me.
  • 2011 River City SC (U-14 Select Second Team)
  • 2010 Spokane Sabers (WA) (U-13 Second Team)

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • FC Portland Winter College Showcase
  • 1/16/15 to 1/19/15
  • Very big tournament for not only myself but my entire team. First time for us having a full roster. My playing time is on the line so I've been staying double time for training with the 18's and other college players who still train with the Shadow sometimes. I'm feeling confident going into this tournament. Hoping to make my mark and show my full potential as there are expected to be many coaches there. • Camp/Event
  • Les Schwab Northwest Cup
  • 8/01/14 to 8/03/14
  • Team did very well. Finished 3rd overall in a U17/18 bracket. Had a few chances at goal. Wasn't able to capitalize. Been working on accuracy since then.
  • Camp/Event
  • Nike Crossfire Challenge
  • 7/11/14 to 7/14/14
  • Team lost all 3 games in group stage but it was our first time playing as a new team. Field play was fantastic, minor mental mistakes lost us each game. Learned as a whole our attack in the final 3rd has to be better, but possession and ball movement was great.
  • Camp/Event
  • Crossfire Challenege
  • Team almost won group, went on to quarterfinals and lost. Great first tournament of the season. Played very well and was superb in my position.
