I first started playing lacrosse in the second grade when our local lacrosse team, Auburn Ambush, first started in Auburn. I was attracted to the physicality of the game, but at the same time I enjoyed that the game had a lot of mental challenges. I started as a defender but I have played goalie for the past 3 and a half years. Last year, when I was in 8th grade, I went from the U13 team to being the starter on the Auburn High School Junior Varsity Team. I will again be the starting goalie for the Junior Varsity team for the Spring Season.
During my years in playing lacrosse I have learned the importance of not only hard work and teamwork, but also the importance of treating your fellow teammates as friends, and not just somebody you play lacrosse with. After I graduate from college, I intend to get a degree in business, specifically accounting or management. I am also currently interested in areas related to software engineering and neuroscience. As with lacrosse, I love the challenge of finding the correct course of action, whether it be coming out of the cage on a fast break or staying in the cage to direct the defense on what to do. I love playing lacrosse and intend to play after my high school career is over.
