My interest in diving started two and a half years ago, when I was in 7th grade. I was goalie in club lacrosse and one of my friends suggested I try diving for fun. I love being in the water and jumping off the spring boards and platforms at MSU so decided to give diving a try. Since then, I have never looked back and I love every second I spend on the board trying to get better, learn new dives and perfecting those on my list. My first big diving achievement was finishing my 8th grade season as the Middle School State Champion.
I feel that the things that influence me the most are those I never think about. For example, when I travel to foreign countries as a student ambassador I never realized how much these experiences would change me as a person. I have grown so much as a result of these trips. International travel taught me responsibility at a young age and troubleshooting when things don't go according to plan. I had to opportunity to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds as well as doing service projects in other countries.
I work hard on the diving board but academic success is also very important to me. My goal is to graduate with a GPA of 3.8-4.0. I find school and studying to be a lot of fun, and even if I do not reach my goals I know that I always did my best. In college, I would like to go into medicine, but I am not sure what specific area yet. I always look forward to new experiences in life and experiencing them with new people.
