My name is Trenton Dickey and I am currently 14 years old, 6’3" tall, and weigh 220 lbs. I am a Freshman at Splendora High School in Splendora, Texas and my current positions are RB/TE on the offensive side of the ball, as well as MLB and DE/DT on the defensive side of the ball. When running the ball up the middle I average around 12 yards a carry, have exceptional hands when running pass routes, and can effectively read plays in order to block for my QB. It is important for me not only to push myself on the field, but in the classroom as well. Currently I am enrolled in several AP classes where I have maintained an A/B average, as well as maintained an A/B average in my other courses as well.
I was the defensive player of the year my 7th and 8th grade years at MLB and led the team in rushing and points scored my freshman year. My coaches have expressed that I will be moving up to the Varsity level next year as a sophomore. As an athlete I am determined to be successful. I am a starter for my high school and select team on both sides of the ball, and rarely leave the field. My goal and ambition is to play football at the collegiate level and earn a degree where I can later strive to play Pro ball or pursue my dream of coaching.
I begin weight training at 5:45am every morning, perform weight training every day after school, and train with an agility and speed coach three times per week in the evenings. I was recruited to participate on a select team, The K&D Pearland Mustangs, when I was 12 years old and have played with them during the off-season for 3 years now. I have attended several camps which include an invitation only camp at Baylor University, 3 University of Texas camps, 1 Texas ATM satellite camp, 3 Football University camps (in which I was selected to go to TOP GUN all 3 times), and 2 USA Football camps (in which I was selected to attend the regional camp). In my spare time I have been an assistant coach at our local little league program, and just finished my second season as the RB/LB coach and special teams coach. I truly enjoy teaching younger kids what I have learned from my trainers, and from all the camps that I have attended. I have been told that a few of my best traits are that I am coachable, driven, respectful, dedicated, a team player, versatile, open to all positions, and never turn away the opportunity to learn.
