I've been wrestling from my early days when the best part of the workout was being King of the Mat in our ending take-down game. Since that early stage I haven't stopped growing, learning, and achieving as a person and a competitor through the ranks of IKWF, middle and high school wrestling. I come from a line of sportsmen and women who have taught me and modeled how to be a strong leader, a responsible person, and a formidable competitor. I've studied abroad my freshman year, been an honor roll student every semester, as well as an awarded athlete in the three sports in which I compete. I finished my sophomore year with 26 wins in the 160 slot. My junior year, I amped it up, winning our regional competition at 170, then placing second at sectionals, going on to State competition, completing my season with 39 wins. My 2015 senior season clicked for me as those prior years became a foundation of speed, skill, technique, and power on the mat. I won regionals, sectionals, and went forward undefeated as the Illinois State 1A 182 Champ, carrying 42 wins and sealing my career with 107 victories in three years. Those childhood games of 'King of the Mat' paid off. I look forward to how these experiences will give me increased mental and physical focus to continue gaining prowess and titles in wrestling.
