When I was a little, my bath time ritual would be to have my mom count how long I could hold my breath under water...I secretly think she thought I was a mermaid!

My love for the water has always been my passion.  My parents enrolled me in "club" swim at the age of 7 (until 12).  There is where I learned self-discipline and a strong work ethic which I continue to use as a 4 year High School Varsity Water Polo Player.  I realized quickly how much I enjoyed the "team" aspect of the sport.  As Team Captain, I am able to lead and teach in the water as well as on the deck.  My mom leaves notes for me every morning before she goes to work, "if you don't put in the effort you'll never know your potential."  I received my Scholar Athlete Award Patch last year as a result of maintaining a 3.87 GPA.  

I believe my love for the sport and the passion to keep learning will enable me to continue to find balance  between academics and water polo.
