My dream is to play volleyball at the colligiant level, as for I know nothing but hardwork and determination along with working hard in school is a priority. Being the youngest of five, I would be the first child to go to college- as for all of my siblings went into the military following high school.
When it comes to volleyball, I am very passionate in every aspect of it. I find that without passion for something, how will you ever be successful in what you're doing? Usually ending every match in a scratchy voice, being obnoxious in how loud I am on the court, I try to set myself away from others as a leader. Being adopted from a young age had a huge influence in how I view someones success. One can either take what happens to them and complain, or build upon this and be the best that you can be. Leadership on and off the court is something that I highly contribute, and I look out for my teammates as if they were my family. Without sticking together as a whole, there is no way a team can be successful.
Academically, I always strive to be the best. Whether it is staying up until dawn studying, failure is not an option. I drive two hours away, four days a week for practices, but still maintain good grades, whether it is staying after school to get help from teachers, or cancelling plans with friends to have extra time studying- academics is a main priority.
Outside of volleyball, I was a lifeguard for two Summer's in a row, and I also have a part time job at a local restaurant. I have maybe one, two free days a week, and I dedicate those days to working, or even going to the gym.
Recieving Second Team All Conference this past high school season was an honor, but it was not enough. I am striving for nothing but First Team All Conference next season, as for it will be my Senior season. I strive to be the best captain I can be, and bring nothing but good examples to underclassman.
I might not be the biggest person, but my love for this sport is huge. I originally grew up playing softball, playing 5 seasons of travel softball, and making varsity as a Freshman, I then chose to dedicate all of my time to volleyball. I find that this sport requires yourself to be disciplined in every aspect, and maintaining a good attitude is a must. Everyone makes mistakes, and learning how to improve upon these mistakes and moving on is a huge priority.
Growing up with all brothers, I can say for myself that I am pretty fearless. Fearlessness may not seem like a requirement in volleyball, but it is. If someone shanks a ball into no-man's land, are you willing to sacrifice yourself to save the play? Of course. No one enjoys a selfish teammate, if a teammate is down, I will be the first person to pick them back up.
Playing volleyball in college is a dream of mine, and I am willing to work hardedr than anyone on and off the court to achieve this goal.
