I am an energetic, hardworking 18 year old McKinney North Senior who loves the game of volleyball. I began playing volley ball in 7th grade. It became a passion of mine to learn and master the game. I worked hard and within a few years I became a solid player. Once I got to high school I played volleyball for a few years but decided just to play Club volleyball to take my skills further and challenge myself. I have been playing Club volleyball since 2012 with the same team. I began playing as an outside hitter and then my Coach tried me at middle and saw my strong defensive skills at the net so I currently play middle and rightside hitter on my 18's team.
My aspirations are to play volleyball on a collegiate level. I believe I would be an asset because I am a hard worker and a team player. I not only work to make myself better but also my teammates. I am not afraid to listen and learn to add to my skill set. I may not be the tallest girl on the team but I can jump and get the ball. I continuously work at getting better at my craft by training with my Coach, attending summer camps and working in the gym. My strongest skill on the court is my defense, how to read the court and my heart to win. I always say the game is not over until the last point play to the end. I plan to major in Forensic Science or become a Physical Therapist.
I work hard on an academic level as well, nothing for me has ever come easy but I work hard at keeping and maintaining a good grade point average. I understand that education is important and necessary so I don't take it for granted. I strive for excellence in all that I do in every class, every course every day. I am currently involved in Student Council and PALS (volunteer group).
In my spare time I play basketball during off season to stay in shape it is also a sport I like to play. I also assist with coaching young kid’s volleyball teams during the week and some weekends. I also with my basketball team mentor young kids at the local middle school. I enjoy hanging with my friends on the weekend and also spending time with my Coach who is my mentor. She played at the The University of Kansas and I have had the opportunity to visit KU and attend the summer camps. It was an awesome experience to meet the team and to learn from them the experiences of playing on the collegiate level.
I appreciate you taking the time to view my profile and learn a little bit about me. I understand playing on the collegiate level requires hard work, dedication, academic excellence and determination and I am ready for the challenge.
