Amy Schermerhorn '14 Recruiting Profile

My ultimate goal is to play volleyball at the collegiate level, for an outstanding school, where I can contribute to the team and continue my drive for learning.

I started playing volleyball in the 6th grade, fell in love with the team environment, the individual contributions I could make for the team, and the sport all around.

I was always one of the tallest on my team, now 6’ tall 145 lbs, however I have learned and played all positions with the exception of Libero. I became a good blocker, developed a strong arm, and acquired a keen eye for the court. From being a novice on my elementary school team to becoming captain of my varsity high school and club teams I have developed personally, academically, and as a player with each passing season. Each coach I have had, has taught me leadership, personal strength, and strategy developing my overall love and ability for the game.

My utmost desire is to bring these traits to the college level and contribute to the team while making me a better person, both academically and as a player.
