Most people would think being diagnosed with epilepsy was an awful thing, but looking back, it led me to volleyball, my true passion! Prior to being diagnosed, I was a competitive swimmer, but I left the pool because of the possible danger. I switched to volleyball and never looked back! Thankfully, three brain surgeries in 2011 eliminated my seizures and completely cleared me to play volleyball and live without any limitations!
On the volleyball court I am committed to not only being the best player I can be, but also being the best teammate. As a team captain for most of the teams I have played on, I understand the importance of playing in the moment. Even more importantly, I understand the significance of motivating the team during tough times, leading by example with energy level, work ethic and communication, and building an environment of camaraderie. I look forward to continuing my career competing at the collegiate level.
