While I am still quite young ('22), I dream of playing volleyball in college. I have been playing volleyball since I was 7 years old and am about to start my fourth year of club volleyball. I am a six-rotation player and set when we run a 5-1 and play setter and right side when we run a 6-2. (Last year I primarily played outside, and set occasionally.) My club team qualified last year for Girls' Junior Nationals last year by winning the Southern California National Qualifier tournament (first place out of 103 teams). At Nationals, we went 8-1 and came in 5th Place overall (National Division) -- it was an awesome experience. In addition, this past year I was selected as one of nine Future Select girls in the Arizona Region to represent the Region in the USAV High Performance National Championships in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. My AZ HP team went 6-1, finished the tournament in 2nd Place and took home the Silver Medal. During the tournament, I played Middle, Outside and Setter in various matches. I have also Attended USA Volleyball's High Performance Future Select training camps each of the past two years. This December, I will be attending the USAV A-1 Select National Team Prospects Holiday Camp at the Olympic Training Center.
My middle school team last year won the Paradise Valley Unified School District Championship (without losing a set all season). I was honored to receive the outstanding Scholar/Athlete award on my team. I also qualified the last two years for the Pitch Hit and Run Regional Championships and came in first place in my region in 2016 (which I think is pretty good since I don't play softball!). I also enjoy golf (but I'm still learning that very frustrating sport!).
As hard as I work at volleyball, I work even harder at my schoolwork. I take all Honors classes at my middle school and received 23 A's and 1 B in my 7th Grade classes. I was also just inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.
I hope you can come see me play sometime soon! Keira Hall
