Hello, my name is Kahlia Columbus. I am a senior who at Manvel High School located in Manvel, Texas. I am a member of the Lady Mavs Varsity Track Team. My track career is very demanding, but also very rewarding. I began running track my seventh grade year at Nolan Ryan Junior High. That following summer I joined Carl Lewis Athletic Stars Track Club. With Carl Lewis Athletic Stars Track Club I have qualified for and placed in, the Junior Olympics for two consecutive years in the 4x8; 2012 winning 3rd placed and 2013 winning 4th place. Currently I rum for the Wings of Houston, TX. My track career at Manvel has been successful as well, I am now the Team captian of the Varisty Track Team. My freshman year I was a part of Lady Mavs Junior Varsity Track Team and I placed 2nd overall in the open 200 in the district meet. My sophomore year I was moved up to varsity and I anchored both the 4x100m relay and the 4x200m relay and was a district finalist in the open 200m. My goals are to continue working hard to perfect my craft. I hope that my success in academics as well as athletics place in me in a position to obtain a full scholarship to the college of my choice. I plan to go to college and major in Business and Marketing. I wish to earn my Master’s in Business Administration and run for a collegiate track team while working to do so.
