It's my turn. I stare at the finish line and breathe slowly in and out. I shake my arms and legs. I precisely place my right fingers then my left on the track in lane 3. I anticipate the sound... Bang and I'm off. I knew I was a runner the first track meet I ran in 6th grade. Since then my compassion and competitiveness for running has only increased. There's no words to describe exactly the reason I'm smiling after each event. As a high school athlete I have played basketball and run track. I know what it means to be a team leader on the track and off. Details matter. Reputation matters. Skill development matters. Personal goals matter. One of my goals is to add success and strength to a collegiate track team. As for in the class room I take all my classes seriously. I always give 100% on every single homework assignment and project. Also, I am not afraid to ask for assistance if it is needed. Doing my school work has always been my first priority. My favorite event is the 200m dash. I have also had success on the 4X100 relay for which we went to the state level last year (2014 spring track season). I am looking forward to our season at Crystal Lake Central High School. I hope to continue improving my times with coaching staff and team mates input.
