To College Women's Swimming Coaches,
Swimming at the collegiate level has been a goal of mine since I started swimming year round when I was 10 years old. As a junior now in high school, I am just 2 years away from making that goal and dream a reality. For the next 2 years, I will continue to be 100% committed, as I have been, to swimming and dropping my times in the pool. My mother was part of a college swimming team and I understand that swimming in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I look forward to that challenge that could change and enhance my life, swimming, and college experience.
I am very competitive and look forward to the chance to strive for excellence at even a higher level. I am a trusted leader both in and out of the pool. I lead by example and do all that I can to encourage my teammates and friends. I am very coachable and hardworking. I have good time management. I strive to maintain a positive attitude and excellent dedication. I have a very strong set of values and beliefs. I am supportive, kind, honest, respectful, and a role model for others. I value my family, friends, education, faith, and of course my sport! As a new college recruit on your team, you would find that I would be one of the hardest working recruits you would have.
Not only do I strive for excellence and work hard in the pool, I do so in the classroom as well. As you can see from the academics page, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA my first 2 years and I am having another strong semester and plan to continue that high quality of work. I enjoy volunteering for charitable events around school and the community. Right now I am looking at a career in the medical field. I want to make a difference in the lives of others.
I am open to all college options and ultimately want to find a college that will push me to excel in the pool and in the classroom. I look forward to becoming a beneficial contributor to a college swim team and the college community as well. I am truly excited for the opportunities ahead.
Thank you for your consideration,
Madison Ruffalo (Class of 2016)
