I am a goal oriented student who loves to challenge herself and work for the best. I am academically driven by my 4.1 GPA with a total of 9 Honors/ AP courses. I have participated in many clubs and extra-curricular activities on campus, which includes 7 Varsity sport seasons. I was a captain in volleyball, water polo and swim. I have focused on swimming, because swim will be my driving force in college. My academic career began at a private faith based school in San Bernardino, were I was awarded Valedictorian of my eighth grade class. I was also elected as the student body president of student council. From there I have been on the principal’s honor roll each semester of high school and I am currently in the top 8% of my class of 561 students. As for my extra-curricular, I have been a part of the YMCA family for over 10 years. I received two black belts in two different martial arts and have given back to that family as a volunteer instructor. I am also very active in my church, being a CORE member and a Retreat camp leader. I received a letter of helping hands for the hours I have given for my community service. I am also extending my service to the school by becoming a Link Crew leader to help incoming freshman acclimate to high school.
In college, I wish to pursue a major in Real Estate with minors in business management and marketing. I am also interested in participating on the school’s swim team. I have accumulated a plethora of swimming accomplishments including multiple CIF Division 4 titles. I have also qualified for summer and winter swim Junior Olympics more than once and also qualified for winter and summer Sectionals. My ultimate goal is to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
I come from a diverse background of cultures. My mother is full Vietnamese and my grandfather on my father’s side is from Mexico. Both my parents have little college education and I will be the first to receive full university schooling. As with other families during these tough economic times, my family struggles financially any information on financial assistance the school may be able to offer me would be greatly appreciated. I hope I fit the profile of your ideal student. I would love to receive more information about your school as well as your swim program.
