My name is Arielle Fortune, I am 17 years old, and a rising senior at East Hamilton High School. I've played school/competitive soccer throughout my middle and high school years and plan to continue to play at the collegiate level as well. I am here to tell you that I am willing to put in the time, effort and the commitment it takes to be the best. I'm willing to wake up those early hours to improve as a player and as a team. When I step out on to the pitch, I work to the best of my abilities whether that is in practice or in a game.
Starting my freshman year, I proved to my coach that I could be a varsity starter and I have been ever since. In 2014, my select team went to Nationals, where we placed 2nd in the Nation. As a midfielder, I'm a great ball winner and a person who will try to fix their mistakes when they happen, even if I don’t always succeed. My coaches describe me as versatile, meaning I can go to any position you need and work the hardest I can. My personality leads me to be very coachable to many and although I like to have fun, I am very serious when it comes to the game. Achievements from the past 2016/2017 High School season is 1st team All-District and 2nd team All-Region.
In the classroom, I work very hard to keep my grades up. Currently, I hold a 4.0 GPA, the same GPA since freshman year. I'm ranked in the top 5% of my class out of 200+ students. Although soccer has limited the amount of outside activities, I still try to get involved in as many things I can. I recently got into the leadership program at my school, in addition to being nominated to the Youth life YMCA leadership program. I'm looking to find a college that's a great fit for me, in addition to a good soccer program. I want to go into Pre-Med and challenge myself both academically and athletically, pushing to be one of the best in everything I do.
I promise you that I can be good or even better because I have the skills, willpower and the strength of character to be the best that I can be. I believe in myself and what I can do, I just hope that I can provide the necessary skills that will make you believe in me to.
