Everyone wants to play soccer but I want to make it my life. I have played for four different teams since I started at the age of 6. I started playing at rec league and when I was 10 I started playing for Mattoon Soccer club. I was short for my age and young because I was playing on the U14 age group. However I still managed to be a leader and earned the role of captain. At age 13 I started to play for Midstate Soccer Club where I also earned the role of a captain. I still play for Midstate but because of my birthday I am able to play down an age group so I can still continue to play club. I played a year of high school soccer at Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond High School and my team is a co-ed soccer team so I'm not able to play club in the fall. After discussing with my parents I decided that club was a higher level and it was a better route to get to college. I now only play club instead of high school. Many of my coaches tell me that I have a great work ethic and that I am natural leader. I have found that if you work hard then your coaches just want you in the game it doesn't have to be in one position. It also helps to be able to play anywhere. I love to be a goalkeeper butwith my hight it's a bit of a challenge so when my coach needs me in the field I step up and give everything I have and I usually play the most on the feild. In college I want to study to become an athletic trainer. I love to help people and as an athlete it will be helpful to me also to be able to diagnose any problems or injuries I may have and be able to recover and heal properly. I hope you will consider me for you program and look forward to playing soccer for the rest of my life.
