Charlotte Taylor '17 Recruiting Profile

I started rowing my freshman year of high school, and have loved it ever since. Starting in novice year, I was 7 seat of the first boat, and medaled at almost all the regattas I attended. The summer of my freshman year, I made it to varsity was was immediately placed in the 1V8. Going into sophomore year, I was stroke seat of the 1V8 and 1V4. I am a very competitive person, and do not let anything get in the way of what I want to accomplish. Towards the end of my first year on varsity, I was able to go to the 2015 Youth Nationals in Florida. This year, I have been starting to think of what I want to accomplish in my rowing career, and what I want to do in college. I would love to make a competitive rowing team in college, and get to know different people around the United States. I also hope to better my technique on the water and off. I am always striving to make myself a better rower and person, by pushing myself to accomplish what I set my head to. 
Outside of rowing, I am an organized student that keeps on top of my grades. This year, I am taking 3 AP classes: Calculus BC, AP Physics, and AP Language. I am also an active member in Girl Scouts, and have a lot of community service hours. In addition to my busy schedule, I work at a local toy store on the weekends to help save up money for the many things I want to accomplish in life. 
Overall, I believe I am a great fit to row on the collegiate level due to my strong work ethic, the strive to become a faster rower, and my competitive nature.
