Personal Statement

Academic success is the most important thing to me.  However, I have been playing hockey for 12 years and have an everlasting passion for the sport.  I feel that I am a leader both on and off the ice.  I am a team player, and I never hesitate to answer and/or ask questions. I am always open to learning new things in order to grow as an athlete and student.  I am organized, dedicated, and determined when it comes to achieving my goals and aspirations.  I was given the opportunity to fill a student coach position with the U10 Lady Vipers for the 2014-2015 season, and never thought I would be able to give back to the sport at such a young age.  I take pride in this accomplishment, as the sport has done so much for me.

** My final statistics for the 2014-2015 season, as Captain of the U19 FL Lady Vipers, are as follows:

  • Games Played: 33
  • Goals: 35
  • Assists: 30
  • Points: 65
  • PIM: 16

** My final statistics for the 2015-2016 season, as Captain of the U19 FL Lady Vipers, are as follows:

  • Games Played: 26
  • Goals: 17
  • Assists: 18
  • Points: 35
  • PIM: 8

Training

  • Off-Ice Outdoor Speed, Strength & Agility Training
  • 4 years
  • I spend my off weekends doing forward and lateral plyometric hurdles, agility ladder foot work, wind sprints with parachute resistance, multiple angle medicine ball throws, and backpedal & carioca sprints.
  • Indoor Weight Training
  • 4 years
  • I work out 6 days a week. 3 of the days are for weight training & the other 3 days are for cardio. I change my workout every 3 weeks to target a different set of muscles, and there is one off week of cardio only in between weight training programs. My weight training workouts focus on total body power training, and avoids isolation exercises.
  • Private Lessons with Stan Neckar
  • 2 years
  • Ever Friday I have a 1 hour private lesson (on-ice) with NHL veteran Stan Neckar.
  • Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning (MBSC)
  • 1 year
  • Workout twice a week with my current team, the Boston Shamrocks at MBSC. Mike Boyle as well as other top notch trainers work with us individually and as a whole to keep us in the best physical condition possible.
