Mary Barbero '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Mary Barbero and I am 17 years old. I am 5'5" and weigh 115 pounds. I was introduced to the game of golf by my father at a very younge age. Up until the past few years, golf had been just something I did with the family. I didn't become serious about playing the game until my freshman year of high school when I made the decision to play competitive golf over continuing to play on a travel soccer team. Playing golf at the collegiate level is my main goal. Whether playing for one of the top major schools or not, I look forward to making an impact playing on the team. I was a team captain on both my soccer and high school golf team. I believe I bring an upbeat energy to the game. I'll be your best friend out on the course but believe me, inside I want to beat you. I'm constantly asked where I want to go to school and what I want to major in. As of right now I'm undecided but I am leaning toward staying in a warm weather climate area. As for an academic major...I have a strong interest in Early Education and Psychology, but that's just as of right now of course.
