I have learned that hard work pays off. This past year I have dedicated myself to physical fitness, practicing my short game, and keeping a positive mental attitude. I believe this work has paid off in my performance during golf tournaments this summer. Practicing each day has helped my golf game. Working as a life-guard this summer has helped me learn how to balance a busy schedule of working, tournaments, and daily practice. I even had a little time for a new adventure. I experienced the Boundary Waters of Minnesota on a camping/canoeing trip with friends.
This past summer has reinforced that I am capable of setting and reaching goals, that I enjoy competitive golf, and that I am organized and dedicated enough to have time for the things that are important to me. As I look to my future, in my last two years of high school and then college, I look forward to working hard to accomplish my goals as a student and as an athlete.
