I have come to realize in the last couple of years that all success and goals are reached due to hard work and effort everyday. I have always worked hard in the classroom to obtain straight A honor roll each year of my education while also enrolling in AP, Honors, and Dual Credit courses. Not only am I a strong student with the desire to learn more and challenge myself, but I also work hard on the court during season and off-season. I am a team player looking for my teammates and how I can pass the ball if needed or set them up for success too. The SA Express News wrote an article about our court chemistry this year which focuses on communication, building relationships with our team members, setting each other up for betterment for the team, and lots of hard work. Opportunities to play basketball or train with outstanding players and coaches continues to push me towards my goal. I study the game just as I study in the classroom yet find balance and time for social activities and school functions. I am always willing to learn more and work hard every day. Dedication to a team, coach, work group, class project, and others that rely on me is honored and respected. I manage my time which is something I learned very young as a gymnast that trained over 24 hours a week. Juggling school and sports is natural for me and I wouldn't want it any other way. I rise to the challenge and am confident that my academic skills and athletic ability combined would be a great fit for college basketball. Thank you. Victoria Pena
