I have been playing basketball since I was 7 years old, playing for a little league called Upward. This league was not competitive but, I have been competitive since I started playing sports. In 3rd grade, I started to play for my church Shandon United Methodist with my mom as the coach. I sometimes would get pulled up to play with 6th graders. My final year of church, I led my team to an undefeated championship with my highest scoring record of 12 points. 6th grade came around and I tried out for my school's B-team and ended up making Junior Varsity. I was the youngest on the team and I started. 7th grade played again for Junior Varsity and was also another starter. 8th grade came around, I got put on my Varsity team but dislocated my Knee cap first practice in a 3 man weave drill. This injury led to other injuries. I went into surgery to get my patella relined, came out of surgery with a ACL surgery and an outer meniscus surgery awaiting for me in a few months. After the next 2 surgeries, I was scared to play again. I went to many summer practice but, always left early knowing I was not gonna play much the next season. The 2016-2017 basketball season comes and I would sit and cheer on my teammates. Soon I was warming up and dressing out. I talked to my trainer everyday about playing because my doctor has already cleared me but she has not. The day she said you can play for only 2 minutes was the best thing I heard all day. I still think about it to this day, I ran on the court to my position. My teammate Rachael passed me the ball and I took the shot. As i released, It felt like it was just basket and I. I had the feeling that time stopped. Then the ball went through the net and the crowd and my team went crazy. My first time playing in 2 years and I make my first shot I took. The season ended and i ended up with 8 points the whole season. Travel ball started up and I was shooting as much as i could coming out of the first game with 15 points. My average in travel was about 7 points a game. You should consider me to play for you because I'm in love with the game have been ever since I stepped on the court. I have has a bunch of medical problems but, now that I'm playing more and more I conquering those fears. I want to be a leader! I'm done following everyone and losing. I'm now a leader who wants to take people to victories. I am very hard working who wants nothing more than success and is willing to fail if it means to succeed next time.
