Devan Rimmer '16 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goal is to find a college environment where I can get the best educational, athletic and social experience.  If I were to pick a few words to describe myself I would pick motivated, focused, hard-working, coachable/teachable and creative.  I think these words apply to both myself as a basketball player and student.  I pride myself on being a self-starter in everything I do academically and athletically.  My favorite quote that I apply to my academics and athletics is “Weakness lies in giving up.  The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time” – Thomas Edison.  I take a lot of pride in never giving up or showing frustration.  As a friend and a teammate, I focus on being loyal and neutral and avoiding drama.  Our AAU season just ended and one of my AAU teammates complimented me by telling me I was the one team member everyone could rely on as being a trusting and positive person to go to.  That is a character trait am proud of and I think it helps differentiate me from other students/players.  I look forward to being a successful college student and basketball player and I am confident I can be a good candidate for your team and school.
