I have wanted to be a doctor since I was in kindergarten. While other girls wanted to be princesses or ballerinas, I remember telling my teacher that I wanted to be a pediatrician. I am open to attending a college in California or out of state as long as the university has a biology or pre-med program. However, I am also interested in business because I would like to have a private practice one day. I have worked very hard in high school to maintain a cumulative 4.415 GPA so that I could earn an academic scholarship. Similarly, I've worked very hard on the basketball court to help my team succeed and perhaps earn an athletic scholarship.
I believe that my best qualities are my leadership abilities, my 3-point shooting, and my passing ability as I average more than 9 assists per game. I am an unselfish player with great vision, but I also like playing defense and stopping whoever I am guarding. I am competitive in everything that I do, especially when I step on the court.
I have been playing organized basketball since the 4th grade and on competitive club and travel teams since the 5th grade. What makes me different from others is that I am student of the game and understand that basketball is as much mental as it is physical. Although my stature and frame are rather petite, I have the heart and courage of Kevin Garnett, who is one of my favorite players.
I think it is difficult to find point guards with three 20+ win seasons and 4.415 grade point averages in one package. If I am fortunate enough to play for a university, they will not only get a player who gives 100% between the lines, but also a student who will represent the university as the definition of a student athlete.
I am a humble young lady; In fact, some people say that I go through a transformation from school nerd to all-area athlete once I put on my jersey. I have always tried to make the right decisions on the court to help my team and at home to help my family. I think if you ask my coaches and teachers, they will say that I am hardworking, caring, and driven.
