My dream is to play collegiate softball. I first started playing Prescott Girls Softball Association league softball when i was 8 years old. My Dad tells me that from the time I was 3 years old I would want to play catch with anything that looked like a ball! I started playing on a 10u club team when I was 10 and I fell in love with the game. I also played other sports such as basketball and soccer but I just didn't enjoy them as much as softball. I have a passion for the game that makes me want to always practice and get better.
At this point, I think I want to major in sports medicine but I am keeping my options open for now because I am not sure. I would like to be able to go to a smaller school so I can get more one on one time with the teachers and have the campus feel like a second home. I don't have a preference of any one state or place I would like to attend because I do not want to limit my chances to playing at the college level. I work hard not only on the field but also in the classroom as my GPA does show. I have learned that working hard to accomplish my goals is very satisfying so therefore I try to set goals for everything in my life.
I started pitching when I started playing softball and I loved it because I was the one who touched the ball on every play and liked the pressure of all the attention. As I started getting older I realized how much work and effort it actually took to be a good pitcher and I decided that I would prefer to put that time into my hitting and fielding. After attempting to 'retire' from pitching several times, each team I played for would need me to pitch and therefore I have continued to still work at pitching and try to get better because that is what my teams have needed me to do. All of my coaches tell me that this shows I am a very strong team player.
