I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and the southern heat had made swimming a huge part of my life. I grew up swimming on my high school team, club team, and just for fun all the time. My love for the sport eventually took me to Maryland, where I attended Towson University and swam Division I as a distance swimmer. I graduated summa cum laude in 2022 with my degree in Biology. Swimming at such a high level taught me so much about perseverance, discipline, and balancing my time, which really helped me both in the pool and in my studies.
My path to college swimming was unique because my family lived overseas for a while due to my dad’s job in oil and gas. Despite the challenges of moving between countries, I joined NCSA recruiting to help with the college recruitment process. It was such an exciting time for us, and NCSA was fantastic in connecting us with college coaches and making everything smoother. I loved every moment of it, and it inspired me to help other families navigate this journey without all the stress as a recruiting coordinator.
Now that I’m back in Houston, I’m enjoying spending quality time with my family. I keep busy by teaching swim lessons on the side to keep giving back to the sport that gave me so much. Lately, I have also been trying out new sports like pickleball and running. I am still figuring out if land sports are really my thing, but I am having a great time giving them a shot and seeing where this new adventure takes me.
