I first started playing volleyball my sophomore year of high school and have loved it ever since. Before I played volleyball, I was a soccer player having played that sport since I was 4 years old. I have always wanted to play at the collegiate level no matter which division. I know the burden that collegiate sports will put on the person in the classroom. Playing in college could change my whole life.
I have a consistent float serve and am currently working on making my jump serve consistent. I have fast movement and high volleyball IQ. Although I might not be able to execute the skills perfectly every time, I have a great knowledge of how to do them. I lead by example but also pull kids aside sometimes to help them fix one or two things to help them improve. I push my teammates to do better to make the team as a whole improve.
In the classroom, I maintain a high GPA, study hard and get involved in extracurricular activities to keep me from going down the wrong path. I manage the girl's volleyball team at my school and volunteer at a local nursing home visiting residents and helping them if they need something. I have also extended my love of volleyball to elementary school students by being a coach for an afterschool club.
I want to attend a college that will fulfill my academic needs first and compliments them with the chance to play at the collegiate level in which I have always aspired. I want to attend a college that will let me play at the highest level of competition possible as well as rounding my personality to make me a better person in society. I hope to make my family proud and one day be a role model for young adults.
