Mike Pompeo '12 Recruiting Profile

I'm Mike Pompeo a 5'7'' 150 lb. sprinter from Pittsburgh, PA. I have been running track since 8th grade.  In 8th grade i was the team points leader for Dorseyville Middle School as well as the anchor leg on the 4X100m relay team which holds the school record.  I was the North Allegheny Invite champion in the 100m dash.  I switched to Central Catholic for high school my freshman year for more challenging academics.  I played football as well as ran track.  I made WPIAL qualifying standards in the 100m and 200m dash's my freshman and sophmore year as well as going to states with the 4x100m relay my sophmore year.  I made WPIAL qualifying standards in the 100m and 200m my junior year as well.  I run in the summer for Midas track club where i was 5th in the region in the 200m dash after freshman year and 8th in the 100m dash after my sophmore year.  I was one of a core group of guys on our team who started our workouts for the upcoming season on the first day of school and every week until the season was over.  My team knows I;m experienced in the sport and can come up to me if they have any questions about practice times and how the meets work.  I'm looking forward to attending the college I feel I can get the best education possible.  The geographic area and size of school don't matter to me as much as the education.  I am looking forward to being a student athlete and running track at a college level.
