Griffin de Flores '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Griffin de Flores I am a 6'0" 230 pound athlete at Heritage High School in Brentwood California. I have played many sports growing up as a kid. My first love was always Football. I started playing when I was 6 years old and even gave up baseball my second love when I became a freshman so I could dedicate my time to train for Football year round. My sophomore year I decided to give Track & Field a try. I quickly fell in love with throwing the Shot and Discus. By the end of my First year throwing I qualified for the North Coast Sections and received my Varsity Letter. I am now in my second year throwing and I must say I have found a new love. I started working with a great coach (Tim Fua) a couple of days a week and together with his knowledge and my dedication we have added over 15ft to my Shot and over 35ft to my Discus Throw. I know that as I fine tune my rotation shot will continue to fly even further. I have set some personal goals for myself on and off the field. My first goal was to improve my academics and my second goal is to break my schools Shot and Discus records. My Academics have greatly improved; I even received the mathematics student of the quarter award. My second goal is still a work in progress but I plan on have it completed very soon. I welcome all opportunities with Schools that will be a good fit for my Academic and my Throwing abilities. I look forward to speaking to coaches that are looking for a dedicated athlete that is not afraid of hard work.
