Luke McGuire '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Luke McGuire and I am a junior at Central Dauphin High School. I am 5 foot 11 inches and 150 pounds. I have been a varsity swimmer since my freshman year, and I have competed at district championships in the 100 Breast and 200 IM, but I also have qualification times in multiple other events. My breast time is a 1:04.91 and my IM time is a 2:10.02. I am planning to major in political science, and I am open to schools of all sizes, from all over the country. I am as committed to my school work as I am to my sport, having been an honor roll student my entire time in high school. I received a 5 on the AP US Government test this past spring, and I am currently taking AP Macro and Microeconomics, as well as AP World History. Next year, I am planning on taking AP European History, AP World History, and AP Biology. I am one of the leaders on my team, both in practices and meets, and pride myself on my hard work and dedication to swimming. At swim meets, I can most often be found on the pool deck cheering on teammates or giving them some words of encouragement prior to their races. I have been a lifeguard at my local pool for the past three summers, and also help out as a junior coach. I also assist in making the meet lineups for my summer and high school teams. I look forward to speaking with any and all interested coaches.
