Gary Rockwood III '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello:

My name is Gary Rockwood III, I attend Marmion Academy High School in Aurora, IL for the class of 2018.  Marmion Academy is a male only college preparatory school. It has a more challenging grading scale than traditional schools. For example, 92-100 is A, 83-91 is B, etc. My favorite Classes are Math and Chemistry, I will be taking Calculus, Business, Economics, English for my senior year.   Marmion Academy also requires all students perform 15 hours of community service per year.

I swim all year round, during the High School Swim Season I participate on the Marmion HS swim team. During the other times of year I swim for the Academy Bullets in Aurora, IL.   During the High School season i participated on the 200FR relay and made the finals with  12th place and All State awards, my split was 21.5.  After HS season i swam with the Bullets and participated in the NCSA Championships in Orlando in March.  I swam 2:05.02 in the 200BR and made the finals, 59.81 in the 100BR, 21.7 in the 50FR, 48.2 in the 100FR.  

During the summer months along with swimming full time, I work at the local park district pool as a lifeguard or pool attendant. I like to earn my own money to save and spend some of it on building my computer.  The Bullets participated in the Summer NCSA meet in Indianapolis in August 2017.  I swam 1:06.44 in the 100M BR and made the finals, 200M BR 2:28.9, 100M FR 55.3, 50M FR 25.3.

I am looking to a Spring 2018 signing after my High School season and NCSA Championships in Orlando March 2018.

I look forward to the opportunity to swim in College, progress and set my goals high with your team at the next level. I continue to grow taller and bigger through my High School career and see the improvements of that in the water.
