Dear Coach:
I am a 5’10” 150 pound senior at Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia with a 3.35 GPA and a 1240 on the SAT. I was on the honor roll last term with a 3.64. I will graduate in May 2015 with 2 AP classes and close to a 3.5 cumulative GPA. I plan on majoring in either engineering or business.
I will graduate as a four-year letterman in swimming, having played four years of club water polo. I am a long-distance swimmer, was voted “Most Dedicated” for my high school swim team and “Best Defensive Player” for my water polo team both Sophomore and Junior years. I am a team leader and I continue to get faster and stronger. The most exciting thing about my swimming career is that I have only been swimming year round for two and a half years and I only recently started growing. I just hit 5’10 and based on familial history, I am predicted to be at least 6’3”. My short-term goal during my senior year in the 500 yard free to is drop to 4:45, in the 1650 free to drop to 16:40, and in the 200 yard fly to be sub 2:00. I plan to meet or exceed these goals. In the Ga State Long Course Meet in July, I dropped time in nearly every event I swam, including a 21 second drop in the 1500 and over 2 seconds in the 200 fly.
As I mature and get stronger, I am confident that I will continue to improve with a great college swimming program. I am looking for a program that will push me to be the best swimmer I can be. If you are looking for a strong student athlete and leader, I know you will find these traits in me. I am interested in swimming for a coach and program that shares my passion for the sport, competition, and the team.
Thank you for your interest. I hope we can speak soon.
