I am Isaiah Green. I live in Key West, Florida and attend Key West Collegiate High School. As part of a military family, I have been competitive swimming for multiple local club teams and high schools, since July 2011. My club teams include Boomers out of Saint Mary’s, Georgia, Bolles Sharks out of Jacksonville which is a level four Gold program, and my current swim club Bone Island swim club, where I’ve been swimming since July of 2013. I was 14 years old when I started swimming.
As I contemplate college plans, I know that I want to continue my swimming career. I am still undecided about a major, but I am leaning towards a career in Engineering. Currently, I have no geographic or size constraints on my college decision. I have and will continue to take and pass all the classes necessary for me to become eligible for college/university admission. I have a current GPA of 4.43 (5.0 scale) and weighted GPA of 4.47. I have received the Academic award in 2011 and have been a member of the ROTC program for the past two years. I lettered my first two years of learning to swim in high school. I have taken numerous AP/Honors classes including Government, Literature, Math, and Spanish; this year I’ve loaded another rigorous year with AP Psychology, AP Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, Honors Human Anatomy and AP English Language.
I'm confident that as I grow and get stronger that the 100 sprint events will develop quickly. I also like to swim the 200 Breast/ IM. My times were 2:44/2:30 at the start of last season, I've dropped to 2:26/2:15 at the start of this year.
My college goals are to receive a great education, a degree, and be a successful swimmer. I would love to swim at a school that is a leader in their conference or is striving to get there. I can see myself being a leader and a contributing, dedicated college team member.
