My name is Damian Parzych and I live in Farmington, Connecticut. I'm a junior at Farmington High School. I have a medium build being 5'10" and 165 pounds. I continually try to keep up good shape and condition all year around. I have been involved with swimming for the past several years. During the season, I'm swimming with my high school team, but off season I continue to practice and swim for Charter Oak Aquatic Club, an US swim team. Currently, my main competition events are 500 and 200 yard freestyles, however, I'm just as capable of swimming shorter events and other strokes as well. My junior season accomplishments are as follow: I’ve placed 2nd on the Top Ten List for the 500Y freestyle with time of 4:56.95 and 200Y freestyle with time of 1:48.62 and breaking two school varsity records for 200Y and 400Y fee relay with split time of 21.90 and 48.91 respectively. Also, my relay team was recognized as an All State Team for 200Y freestyle relay by winning second place during class L championships and placing fifth during open championships. Furthermore, I had the honor to serve as a junior captain during 2011-2012 season. I believe that I am a team player because I always try and motivate my teammates before races and after. For my future, I would like to continue what I truly love: to excel! My future career interests lean towards actuarial science or accounting. I had an opportunity to take an accounting class in my sophomore year and I had really enjoyed learning about different accounting concepts and principles. What I have learned so far is that staying competitive is probably most important aspect of getting a success in corporate world, the same principle as in the pool! For that reason, I feel that if I could combine a school that will provide me with great education and an opportunity to swim, I would be more than honored to represent that school to the best of my abilities.
