I have been swimming for my USA Swimming team, Lompoc Tsunami Aquatics, for 10 years and am on the varsity swim team for my high school, Cabrillo High School, over the past 3 years. I have a tremendous amount of dedication to the sport. I enjoy swimming competitively and look forward to swimming in college. I believe I have the potential to become an outstanding swimmer, in my college years. I still have growing to do physically and mentally, especially if I can get into a program that will help me improve my technique and reach my full strength and potential. I have dedicated myself to swimming, but I did participate in my high school Cross Country team my Freshman and Sophomore year. I also enjoy competing in Triathlon's.
My main events are the 100 and 200 Breaststroke, and the 200 I.M., along with the Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay. I also enjoy swimming in the 500, 1000 and 1650 Freestyle events. I swim both long course and short course seasons. When high school season is over I practice with my swim club a minimum of 5 days a week and compete in 1-2 USA swim meets a month. I have qualified and competed at the Central California Junior Olympics over the last several years and have made it into the top 8 in Finals for several of my events. I have had drops in swim times each season on both my USA swimming team and my High School team.
I enjoy helping out the Junior Varsity level swimmers on my high school team with swimming technique and also help the young swimmers on my USA swimming team.
My academics are sound, I currently have a 3.39 weighted GPA. I will be in 3 AP classes my Senior year, English, Calculus BC and Chemistry 1. I am in the National Honor's Society at my high school and the Interact Club. I also am a lifeguard at the local aquatics center in Lompoc, CA, I also fill in on teaching Red-Cross swim lessons at the Lompoc Aquatic Center Pool.
I just finished off a fantastic Central California Junior Olympic long course meet this past July 2015. I placed in the top 8 in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 400 Free, 800 Free and 1500 Free.
