Personal Statement

UPDATE: My club team, FWFC Blue 97's, was promoted this last year into Division 1 in the RCL (Regional Club League) in Washington.

My goals for college are to play soccer and get an education that will prepare me to be a contributing member of the workforce and society.

Soccer has been my passion since age 6, and I fully intend to keep playing throughout my life. While sustaining a 3.8 GPA , I was able achieve captainship of my club team, win the Washington State Youth Challenge Cup Boys U16, and be included on the Washington State Youth Challenge Cup Golazo best XI U16 Boys team.   I currently am the starting center back/defensive midfield for  Stadium High School Varsity Team. In 2015, I was placed on the All-City team and All-League 2nd team.

I communicate well on the field and am able to lead/command a team to victory. I am well versed in every position of the field, but defense is my true passion. In fact, in my 2014 season, I was the second highest goal scorer with 3 goals from CB in our first 7 games. I am a great attribute to the team on corner/free kicks and am able to skillfully trap/retain possession of the ball from 50-50’s in the air. I made the #1 rated Varsity Team in Washington as a freshman in 2013.

I am exceptionally hard working and have rarely missed practice. One year, I came to tryouts for club and they told me that I was not ready for the highest level of competition. Instead of feeling sad for myself, it lit a fire in me. I wanted to play at the highest level possible and nothing else. Nearly every day for the rest of the following summer, I went outside and worked on my skills as to get better. Within the next two months of them telling me that I was not good enough, I received a call asking for me to disregard their previous request and to come play for the A team. This is the team that I now captain. I desire to play at the highest level possible and to serve my school the best that I can. I have the highest respect for my coaches and look forward to seeing you on the pitch.
