My name is George Hempenstall and I started playing soccer in 8th grade at Madison Middle school. I have always had an interest in sports, playing ice hockey, football, running track and traveling to England to watch Arsenal and Manchester City play. As a freshman at Madison High School, I started on the varsity squad (first freshman ever in the history of the school to do so,) and have started every game of my high school career since. This year I achieved one of my high school soccer goals which was to make Western Highlands All Conference and Western Highlands Academic All Conference. I started playing club with HFC in my sophmore year of high school on the black team and my second year on the white team and this year I am on he 94 HFC White team. I know and realize that I have started my soccer career late compared to other players, but feel that in the short time I have played, my skill level and abilities have improved significantly. In all of my club evaluations, I continue to improve significantly and the coachs say I am "very coachable." I always give 110% in practice as well as games because I know this is the only way I will improve. I learned this lesson by working as a stick boy for an ECHL Hockey team owned by the LA Kings in Reading PA. I got to see first hand what it took to make it all the way to the NHL. My goals are to continue playing soccer and completing my college degree. School has always come first and I believe with hard work and dedication a person can achieve anything. My course of study will be Business Administration and Engineering. At this time I have already taken several Engineering and Drafting classes at my high school. I am also taking flying lessons in order to get my private pilots license and then my commercial license. My goals and dreams may sound to some unattainable, but I come from a family that achieves alot with hard work and dedication. Therefore nothing is impossible. I know that with hard work I can make a difference on any team and in any situation.
