Jonathan Fisher '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jonathan but everyone calls me Jack. I am a senior at Dighton-Rehoboth high school and will be the captain for my upcoming senior season. I have played soccer most of my life but when i was younger i was not very good. I used to sit the bench for my old team every game, all game long. After i quit that team and joined Explosion i practiced for hours and hours by myself and with my two temas. Within one year i had improved greatly and i have kept improving through very hard work since then. I was also appointed captain of Explosion after a few years with the team. I can offer any soccer team my full devotion and whatever a coach asks of me, i will do it. Though i play primarily as a central defender i fell as though i could easily fit into any position on the field other than goalie. I was one of two players on my high school team this year to earn 3 All-star titles, the other being our well-known forward keith Rose. Those titles include SCC All-star, Eastern Mass. All-star, and Sun Chronical All-star. I work all summer at Proactive Soccer Camp as a counselor. The camp is run by the same coach that i used to sit for, Paul Janaway. Throughout the year there is never a period of time when i am not playing soccer. I constantly keep my feet on the ball so i don't become rusty and i have also started to lift weights often and plan to do track this spring to become faster as well. My goal would be to play at a very good D2 school such as one of the Northeast 10 conference. I wouldn't mind playing at a D1 school but i do want to actually PLAY wherever i do go. My desired major would be secondary education to become a high school history teacher and hopefully a high school and premier coach.
