Personal Statement

I aspire to attend a school demonstrating excellence both on the field and in the classroom. I believe I am a good candidate due to my experience, attitude, skill, desire, and willingness to work hard. I believe I am different from others given my breadth and depth of experiences, in soccer and in life. In soccer, I was fortunate to represent the Northern Mariana Islands youth national team on three occasions, playing against countries such as Japan, North Korea, and Mongolia, among others, and participating in the NMI's first victory on any level, against Macau in 2011 during an East Asian Football Federation tournament in Taiwan. After moving back to the US for high school in 2012, I have thrived both with the Sporting Kaw Valley premier team and at Lawrence High School. In life, I have had experiences with persons from many different cultures and countries, teaching me how to relate to persons from all walks of life. Soccer has been and remains my passion and I look forward to pursuing it in college.
