My name is Mike Reed, and I am from San Diego, CA. I graduated from Torrey Pines High School in June 2012 and played NCAA DIII soccer in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) in Fall 2012 for the University of La Verne. I was injured midway through my freshman season (11 GP, 9 GS, 3 G, 1 A). I transferred to Mira Costa Community College and graduated in May 2014 Phi Theta Kappa and President's List with an Associate's degree in Psychology and an IGETC certificate with highest honors. I transferred to UCSB where I am currently on track to complete my Bachelor's degree in Psychology in June 2016. I have three more years of NCAA eligibility.
Highlights from my freshman NCAA DIII college season were scoring two game winning goals in double overtime, and earning all tournament team at the North Country Lotto Classic hosted by St. Lawrence University in New York.
Prior to college, I played competitive club soccer and high school soccer. My U19 Academy club team came in first place in the SCDSL U19 Flight 1 (2011). My TPHS soccer team was 2012 CIF Southern Regional Division I semifinalist. San Diego Section Division I champion, Palomar league champion, and ranked 29th in the nation. I received scholar athlete, all-academic team, all-league honorable mention, tournament MVP and coach's awards. This was one of the most successful seasons in the history of the high school. In addition to playing soccer, I also earned a varsity letter and CIF championship in lacrosse at TPHS.
I am a versatile player. At LaVerne I played left mid, forward, and some center mid. I was the starting forward for my high school team, and I played right defender and forward for my club team.
