My Name is Saul Rubio. I am a Senior at West Aurora High School, I weight 195, 5'11. I've only played for 3 years now and when I first played the game I knew this is something I want to do. My Junior year when the team first was made, I was named Captain for the team from my fellow teammates and my head coach. When the season started we lost our first 3 games. Since the team had just started, no one knew how to play the game and how the game went. eventually, we had a good streak. we ended the season 9-10 out of 19 games and in a Local tournament with schools that had programs for years, we beat all them and went to the final and lost. i believed in team first. I never cared about who had the most goals or who had the most assists. all i cared about whats it going to take for me to put my team in the best position to win, because at the end of the day the only stat that really matters is who is leading in the scoreboard at the end of the game. i believe in effort over talent in anything you do will get you somewhere, whether that be the classroom, studying for a test or your final exams, the practice field, or when no one is around to look at you are you going to put that effort when no one is around. that's my mentality.
